The SmartBalancer is the portable measuring unit for field balancing. This handy unit contains numerous fine details and Schenck's cumulative balancing experience combined with state of the art vibration measurement.

The new SmartBalancer is the practical tool that quickly gives you an overview of the unbalance condition of your machines and plant. The handy, battery operated tool enables installed rotors to be quickly, cost effectively and precisely balanced without dismantling and that in one and two planes, static and dynamic.

Horizontal balancing machines
Horizontal balancing machines enable a wide range of rotors with their own main journals to be precisely balanced. They are suitable for cylindrical rotors such as armatures, fans, crankshafts or pump rotors and, with an auxiliary shaft, for disc shaped rotors too, such as pulleys and flywheels or toothed wheels.

The permanent calibration, ergonomic design and logical processes make for easier use. The modular system and diverse accessories makes them extremely flexible. Schenck universal balancing machines are a sound investment, both for individual rotors and for small series production.

The various sizes of the horizontal balancing machines can be used to precisely balance rotors from those weighing a few grams up to 250,000 kg.

Vertical balancing machines
Vertical balancing machines are ideal for rotors without their own journals. Typical rotors, such as V-belt pulleys, brake discs, pump rotors, fans, clutches and flywheels.
The arrangement of the clamped parts directly on the precision spindle means no special auxiliary shafts are necessary and the rotors to be balanced can be quickly and conveniently accommodated by simply mounting them on the machine. The permanent calibration makes calibration runs superflous; the clear and understandable display avoids complicated conversions.
Unbalance correction can also be integrated in the vertical balancing machines. This saves time and costs. These machines are available as pure manual solutions can be extended to automatic machines, which are then integrated in production lines.

Balancing machines for crankshafts
The CS30 was conceived for small series manufacturers to balance crankshafts and for engine overhaul and repair firms.

The unbalance is corrected directly in the balancing machine, using the integrated drill unit. As the usual transfer into a machine tool is no longer necessary, the balancing is faster and substantially more accurate.

Apart from crankshafts, many other types of can also be balanced on this versatile machine, for example electric motor armatures, V-belt pulleys or toothed wheels, provided they comply with the specified rotor data.

The HGW series horizontal, force measuring balancing machines were specifially conceived for low and high speed balancing of propeller shafts in overhaul or repair companies and for use in small series production. The modular set up enables them to be adapted to further balancing tasks such as electric motor armatures, rollers, etc., simply by adding standard components.

The careful dimensioning of all machine parts enables broad weight range coverage and ensures high availability, operational reliability and a long service life. The special spindle bearing covers a broad speed range and withstands high centrifugal forces, in order to correctly take into account the typical propeller shaft unbalance effects caused by radial, axial and bending play.

The HGW series provides a comprehensive safety package for man and machine: bearing force monitoring, which automatically switches off the machine’s drive if unallowably high vibrations occur at the spindle bearings, stable safety bracket, which are designed to arrest the part in the event of part failure (e.g. joint fracture) and prevent injuries to people and damage to machine and a C 600 safety class safety device to ISO 7475 to protect against flying off balancing weights.

Turbo-charger core assembly balancing
When vehicle engine turbochargers are overhauled, the unbalance of the assembled turbocharger core assembly must be checked at the operating speed. The balancing machine is used to detect and correct unbalance in th core assembly. Its range of application is matched to the requirements in repair/overhaul companies.

But it is also ideal for cost effective balancing in test and development departments. Thanks to the high quality metrology, the static unbalance is very precisely determined during the first measurement run, so that only one to two correction steps result in a core assembly "within tolerance". The unbalance correction is made at the shaft nut on the compressor side using a portable grinder. It is not necessary to transfer the core assembly from the machine into a machine tool.

Due to standardised core assembly adaptors, which can be quickly and easily exchanged, a broad range of turbocharger cartridge assemblies can be balanced.
